Google Could Learn A Thing Or Two From Digg

DiggIt was a busy week.  We’re doing a lot of due diligence on acquisitions, family is flying into town for Christmas, there was a new Family Guy, and I was ghostwriting Donald Trump’s jokes on Rosie O’Loser.  With all these important things going on, I made a few bonehead moves on Digg this week.  Total oversights.  I was not on my game.

But within 5 minutes of contacting Digg, their Support Team had straightened everything out.  All three times.  They even used exclamation points in their email responses like they were eager to help.

Could you imagine how much easier an SEO’s life would be if you could get a Mythical Google Support Crew on the horn, IM, or email so quickly?  I mean, sometimes there’s just no reason for the Cloak & Dagger, Spy v. Spy bullshit.  Sometimes they drop the ball.  Sometimes we drop the ball.  Nobody’s really at fault.  There’s nothing malicious going on.  Shit happens and it would be in the user’s best interest if said shit was rectified lickity split.

Nope.  Google wants you to join Webmaster Central.  Validate your site.  Take a piss test.  Get a new Social Security number.  File a reinclusion request.  Run a 4.4 40.  And then replace your deity of choice with Larry and/or Sergey.

Digg just fixes it.
