SMG Car Update
The cars. That’s why I’m up at 4am beating the crap out of the Internet.

Haven’t done an update in a while to the SMG Racing section. Mostly because there’s been nothing in the way of racing and the Porsche GT3 isn’t supposed to arrive until mid-February.
Speaking of the GT3, I sold my order to a friend and put that money into a new Internet investment. He’s local so I’ll get to see (and beat on) it next month.
That said, no way I sit on the Evo VIII and the Viper and call it a day. I have serious Car Attention Deficit Disorder and I need some rigs.
The Evo is the current daily driver. I love it. It’s the most juvenile looking car on the road and my German Shepherd loves the backseat. Not to mention it’s modded enough to dole out a thrashing to just about everything it runs into and it handles like a go kart. All for under $50GR. Hard to beat the value. That said, the juvenile side of it is really starting to wear on me. Every high school jackass wants to start crap with it or talk about it. So, I think a supercharged M3 might replace that. Pro skater, Bucky Lasek, has his over at my friends’, Vivid Racing, right now and if it turns out like we think it will, that’s what I’ll be driving around town now. I had an M3 before and it was perfect except that it was slow as hell. The supercharger should help fix that.
Next we have the Viper…the enforcer. Not too much in the neighorhood gets over on the Evo, but when it does, we go to the garage and get it’s big brother, the Viper. With 550hp or so, it really hands out the beatdowns. Still, there are faster cars around, so in order defend my ‘hood, the Viper must be upgraded. Not sure to what yet, though. The new 2008 Viper looks like a great platform and I still think the Porsche 911 Turbo would be, too. Like I said, Car A.D.D.

I know what you mean about CADD. I warn every new person I come into contact with that every week will yield a new plan regarding what car I’m getting and what I will do with it.
Can’t stand the highschool punks either. My daily-driver is a milano red Integra GSR, and every jackass with a 6-foot spoiler on his Scion xA thinks I want to race him.
It gets old quick.
I would humbly suggest a VW corrado. I am far from a racer - but I REALLY miss this car:

Vivid Racing puts out some nice cars… but have you seen the Full-Race R14? It’s an S14 240SX, converted to an AWD R32 Skyline chassis. Built right, it’s a sleeper that would clean up just about anything on the street.
As for the Viper replacement. What about the new Z06 coming out. It was at the San Diego auto show… supercharged with 650hp.
If you want a slick ride you need my old car… the 89 Camry.
You know, I was really getting into the blog - subscribed to the feed, reading through all the old posts, and then I get to this one. “Cool” thinks me, being the owner of a WRX and some ’60s Chevy muscle - then I get to the line “has his over at my friends’, Vivid Racing” - talk about a blow straight to the gut. Here I am thinking you’re an upright greedy pig like me but then you have to go and associate yourself with a despicable group like Vivid Racing. I can think of only 2 other vendors more despised in the auto enthusiast community, Hennessy and APC - and the federal government just put APC out of business. I’m going to try and pretend I never read this post.
BP’s response: Bunni, I know Hennessey and his reputation. No way on Earth I try to defend that guy. On the other hand, I’ve never had a problem with Vivid. As you well know, the auto aftermarket isn’t exactly run like a JD Powers 5-star community, but they’ve always done right by me. Friends of the owners of these shops always get treated better and the owners of Vivid are friends. I wouldn’t expect that every customer gets treated like I get treated, but I’m also not unaware of their reputation problems. But again, I can only speak to my experience and they’ve always treated me great.
