Actually, I know what it is but I thought I’d titlebait.

So, I started a profile and a community.  Mostly for reputation management (I don’t want Hagans starting one using my name and spamming the blogosphere).  I’m still not convinced there’s much in the way of good traffic to generate with this and I think there’s better use of page space than that idiotic faceroll.

I guess what I’m asking you guys (and Captain Comeback, Tom Brady while he takes a break from preparing to beat down Peyton Manning yet again) is:

“Have you seen anything worthwhile from your spamming…err, community…efforts on MyBlogLog or should I keep banging the everliving hell out of real traffic generators like Digg, Del.icio.us, Reddit, and StumbleUpon?”

Keep in mind I only have enough spare bandwidth left in my day to cook a Pop Tart or add Hagans’ blog to another dozen or so untrusted directories.

Ah, so it was YOU who listed me in Free-SEO-Directory-PageRank.biz!

No worries, your URL is now in 10,000 guestbooks and 100,000 FFA pages. You will rank #1 in MSN for “defensible meme” by wednesday.

With a little bit of programming (actually, a very tiny bit..) you could add thousands of friends quickly. That will get their attention and maybe some of them will stick around ;-)

Alos, being a little creative won’t hurt if you do it to keep the friend adding related.

It won’t bring near the traffic you see from other social networks but the conversion into subscribers seems decent.

A few of my employees started blogs recently, and a good chuck of their traffic comes from MyBlogLog. Try it out, you’ll probably like it. I was surprised at how much exposure and networking it spurred on…. but the faceroll box is pretty ugly :/

I’ve never heard of MyBlogLog until today but it may be worth trying out. Heck, I’ve been with Del.icio.us for a few weeks now and have yet to see a single person tag my sites or add any of my bookmarks. Maybe I’m missing something but it doesn’t seem like a major traffic generator to me!
