Wordpress: The CMS

At last count, I had something close to a hundred Wordpress-based blogs out there in select keyword markets.  They are easy to get going, easy to automate, and the developer/designer community around Wordpress is amazing.  It was just a a matter of time before I brought this consulting site into Wordpress and the veritable content management system (CMS) it has become.

Luckily for me, this has been pretty painless.  Something like 95% of the links to the old site were to the root level.  A little .htaccess will 301 the link pop from the old pages to their new locations here (should I even decide to bring that content over).  Other than that it was a matter of finding a theme that didn’t prohibit significant Page creation and another hour on top of that to tweak that theme to something I could deal with.  Couldn’t have been easier.

Rather than screw with an entire MySQL import of the old blog, I’ll probably cut/paste select pieces of content here and throw some 301’s at it.  I’ve got new, more important stuff to talk about.
